What Mouse Does TaZ Use?

TaZ's mouse history

TaZ's history covers three periods on three different models, with two switches between them. He has not gone back to any earlier model.

The Xtrfy M4 Black was a short stop: 3.1 months, from September 2022 to December 2022. The Razer Deathadder V3 Pro Black followed and stayed for 18.0 months (1.5 years), until June 2024. That is his longest earlier period.

The Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 Black has been his mouse since June 2024. It is his longest-used device.

Mousepad

TaZ plays on the SteelSeries QcK Heavy Black and has done so since September 2022. That is the same month his mouse history begins, so this one cloth pad has stayed under all three of his mice.

It is a control-oriented cloth surface with high static friction and medium dynamic friction. At 6 mm, the foam base is firm. The 44.5 cm by 39.7 cm surface has no stitched edges.

Mouse settings

In CS2 TaZ runs 400 DPI at 2 in-game sensitivity. That gives an eDPI of 800 and 52.0 cm/360.

Polling rate is set to 1000 Hz. The Superlight 2 also offers 2000 Hz, so he is not using its top setting. Zoom sensitivity is 0.90 and Windows sensitivity is 6.

The 400 DPI setting sits well inside the sensor's 100-32000 range, so his sensitivity comes mostly from the in-game value.

Should you buy TaZ's mouse?

The Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 Black is a wireless, ambidextrous mouse at 59 g. It measures 12.42 cm long, 6.06 cm wide and 3.96 cm high. It suits players who want a low-weight wireless mouse with a symmetrical shape and a mid-height body. It uses a HERO 25K sensor and LIGHTFORCE Hybrid switches.

The alternatives trade off weight, dimensions and switches:

• Logitech G Pro X Superlight Black (14 pros use it now): same length, width and height, but 3 g heavier. It has Omron switches and a HERO sensor, with polling up to 1000 Hz.
• ZOWIE U2-DW Black (6 pros use it now): 1 g heavier, 0.12 cm shorter, 0.26 cm narrower and 0.16 cm lower. It is the shortest and narrowest of the four mice compared here. It also offers polling up to 4000 Hz.
• Razer Viper V2 Pro Black (1 pro uses it now): same weight, 0.15 cm longer, 0.08 cm wider and 0.19 cm lower. It is the lowest of the four, and it ties with the Superlight 2 as the lightest.

Anyone who wants the same shape with the older sensor and switches should look at the first Superlight. Those who prefer a smaller footprint should look at the ZOWIE, and those who prefer a lower hump should look at the Viper V2 Pro.
