What Mouse Does ponter Use?

ponter's mouse history

Ponter's history has three periods, three different models and two switches. He has not gone back to any earlier model.

The Razer Deathadder V3 Pro Black is his longest period at 24.3 months (2.0 years), from November 2023 to December 2025. The Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 Magenta followed for 1.1 months. That makes it a short stop between two Razer DeathAdder models.

In January 2026 he moved to the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro Green, which he has used since then.

Mousepad

Ponter plays on the SteelSeries QcK Heavy Black, which he has used since November 2023. That is the same month his V3 Pro period began, so the pad has stayed the same through all three mice.

It is a cloth pad with a control-oriented glide. Static friction is high and dynamic friction is medium, so the surface is built for stopping and precision rather than raw speed. At 6 mm with firm foam, it gives a stable base under the mouse.

Mouse settings

In CS2 Ponter's settings come to 77.0 cm/360, a sensitivity set at 400 DPI.

The mouse can poll at up to 8000 Hz, but the polling rate in his CS2 settings is 1000 Hz. The DPI range is much wider than what he uses: the sensor goes up to 45000 DPI, and he stays at 400.

Should you buy ponter's mouse?

The DeathAdder V4 Pro is an ergonomic wireless mouse. It suits players who want that shape at 12.8 cm long, 6.8 cm wide and 4.4 cm high. At 56 g it is the lightest of the four mice compared here, and it is available to buy.

The alternatives trade weight, size and polling rate against it:

• Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro Faker Edition: the same length, width and height, but 7 g heavier. Polling tops out at 4000 Hz instead of 8000 Hz. It suits players who want the same dimensions on the older platform.
• Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 Dex Black: 4 g heavier and 0.2 cm shorter, with the same width and height. It also polls up to 8000 Hz. It suits players who want a slightly shorter body.
• ZOWIE EC1-DW Black: 7 g heavier, 0.1 cm longer, 0.1 cm wider and 0.2 cm lower. Polling goes up to 4000 Hz. It is the lowest of the four, so it suits players who prefer a lower profile.
