What Mouse Does f0rest Use?

Xtrfy MZ1 Wireless. It is a signature mouse designed by Rocket Jump Ninja, not by f0rest. vs the standard model

The mouse is the Xtrfy MZ1 Wireless (Zy's Rail). It is a signature mouse designed by Rocket Jump Ninja, not by f0rest, and there is no f0rest edition.

Against the wired MZ1, the wireless version switches from the PMW 3389 to the PMW 3370 sensor. Xtrfy's product page adds two features: a swappable back shell and an adjustable battery position.

The wireless model weighs about 62 g, against 56 g for the wired model. That is the cost of the battery and the extra hardware.

f0rest's own Twitch About panel lists the MZ1 Wireless as his mouse.

f0rest's mouse history

Two periods, one switch, both in September 2022. The wired Xtrfy MZ1 lasted about 12 days, then he moved to the Xtrfy MZ1 Wireless.

He has used the MZ1 Wireless since September 2022. It is his longest-used mouse, and he has not returned to any earlier model.

Mousepad

f0rest's own Twitch About panel lists the Xtrfy GPZ1. He has used it since September 2022, and it follows a short spell on a HyperX Fury S Pro that same month.

The GPZ1 is a cloth pad with stitched edges. At 46 × 40 cm and 4 mm thick, it is a surface from the same brand as the mouse.

Mouse settings

In CS2 he plays 400 DPI at 3.50 in-game sensitivity, an eDPI of 1400. That works out to 29.7 cm per 360°.

The mouse is set to 1000 Hz, the highest of the three polling options the MZ1 Wireless offers (125, 500, 1000). Zoom sensitivity stays at 1.00.

Should you buy f0rest's mouse?

The MZ1 Wireless is available to buy. It is an ambidextrous shape, 11.12 cm long, 5.25 cm wide and 3.65 cm tall, and it weighs 62 g. It uses the PMW 3370 sensor and Kailh GM 8.0 switches with a 68 g button force.

Among the four mice compared here, it is the shortest, narrowest and lowest. It is also the heaviest of the four. It suits players who want a compact ambidextrous shape and a wireless connection.

The alternatives trade off differently:

• Finalmouse Ultralight 2 (used by 3 pros now): 9 g lighter, 0.48 cm longer, 0.05 cm wider, 0.05 cm taller. It is wired, with polling at 500 Hz.
• Razer Viper Mini (used by 2 pros now): 1 g lighter, 0.71 cm longer, 0.13 cm wider, 0.18 cm taller. It is wired, with Razer Optical switches.
• VAXEE NP-01S V3 Deep Purple (used by 2 pros now): 5 g lighter, 0.68 cm longer, 0.45 cm wider, 0.05 cm taller. It is wireless, with polling up to 8000 Hz.

The VAXEE is the only alternative that stays wireless. It is also the widest of the four.
