What Mouse Does Carpe Use?

Carpe's history covers three mice, three periods and two switches. Each model got a single period, and he has not gone back to an earlier one.

The Logitech G Pro Wireless is the longest earlier period: 19.1 months (1.6 years), from September 2022 to April 2024. The VGN Dragonfly F1 Pro followed for 10.1 months, until February 2025.

Since February 2025 he has used the Razer Viper V3 Pro White. That makes it his longest-used mouse, ahead of the G Pro Wireless.

Mousepad

Carpe plays on the Pulsar eS Saturn Pro Red, a 50 x 50 cm cloth pad with stitched edges, in use since March 2025. It replaced the Artisan Ninja FX Zero XSoft Black, which he used from April 2024. The pad change came after the mouse change to the Viper V3 Pro White.

The glide is rated Control overall, yet static and dynamic friction are both Very Low. At 4 mm it has a modest profile, and the 6.72% glide difference between the X and Y axes shows how close the two directions are.

Mouse settings

Carpe runs 900 DPI in both VALORANT and Overwatch. The in-game sensitivity does the rest of the work.

The eDPI figures (210.6 in VALORANT, 2808 in Overwatch) come from different sensitivity scales, so they are not comparable across games. The cm/360 values are: 62.0 cm in VALORANT and 49.3 cm in Overwatch. Overwatch is the lower of the two.

Polling rate is set to 4000 Hz in VALORANT and 1000 Hz in Overwatch. The Viper V3 Pro supports up to 8000 Hz, so neither game uses the mouse's maximum.

Should you buy Carpe's mouse?

The Viper V3 Pro White is an ambidextrous wireless mouse at 12.71 cm long, 6.39 cm wide and 3.99 cm high. It weighs 54 g. It suits players who want a low, fairly narrow ambidextrous shape and a symmetrical layout. Its Focus Pro 35K Optical Gen-2 sensor and 8000 Hz polling cover the performance side.

All three alternatives are lighter, so the choice comes down to weight against small shape differences:

• Razer Viper V4 Pro Black: 5 g lighter, with the same length, width and height. It is the closest match in dimensions, and 10 pros use it now.
• ASUS ROG Harpe Ace 2 Black: 6 g lighter, 0.11 cm shorter and 0.09 cm narrower, with the same height. It is the narrowest and shortest of the models compared, and 2 pros use it now.
• ASUS ROG Harpe Ace Extreme: 7 g lighter and 0.09 cm lower, with the same length and width. It is the lightest and lowest of the group, and 1 pro uses it now.

Among the four mice compared, his is the heaviest. Anyone who wants the same footprint with less weight should look at the Viper V4 Pro Black first.
