What Mouse Does stax Use?

Why stax chose the Pulsar STA-X, in stax's words

Pulsar's release announcement of 12 June 2026 states that stax helped develop the STA-X from planning through design. The mouse is part of the Pulsar PRO Series. Here is what he said at the launch:

Since I was young I dreamed of becoming a pro gamer and watched other famous players' collaboration mice, and it is a great honor that I became one of those protagonists ... The Pulsar PRO Series STA-X is a '0-tier mouse' that holds only the strengths, drawn from my experience of playing only FPS all my life and using countless mice, so I feel great pride.

stax (Kim Gu-taek), T1 VALORANT player, 펄사 게이밍 기어, T1 ‘stax’ 김구택 선수와 협업한 ‘Pulsar PRO Series STA-X’ 전격 출시, June 12, 2026 (translated from Korean)

On paper, the STA-X is a 60 g wireless ambidextrous mouse with the XS-1 sensor, optical switches and 8000 Hz polling support.

stax's mouse history

stax's list starts in September 2022 with the Razer Deathadder V3 Pro Black, which he used for 7.2 months. The history covers 10 periods, 9 switches and 7 different models.

The busiest stretch was spring 2023. Between April and June he moved from the ZOWIE EC2-CW to the Logitech G Pro X Superlight Red (about 15 days) and back to the EC2-CW. He then returned to the Deathadder V3 Pro Black for 3.8 months. He went back to three models in total: the Razer Deathadder V3 Pro, the ZOWIE EC2-CW and the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2.

The Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro Faker Edition followed from October 2023 to June 2024, lasting 8.3 months.

The Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 Magenta is his longest period at 20.0 months (1.7 years), from June 2024 to February 2026. After a Razer Viper V3 Pro Black for about 15 days, he returned to the Superlight 2, this time in Black, for 5.3 months. Across both colours the Superlight 2 adds up to 25.3 months (2.1 years).

The Pulsar STA-X has been his mouse since August 2026.

Mousepad

stax currently uses the Artisan Hayate Otsu V2 Soft Wine Red, a cloth pad with stitched edges. It is 4 mm thick and measures 49 × 42 cm. He has used it since August 2026, the same month he started using the STA-X.

Before it he used the Artisan Type-99 Soft Black, from March 2025 to August 2026 (17.5 months).

Mouse settings

In VALORANT stax runs 800 DPI at 0.215 sensitivity, which gives an eDPI of 172.00 and 75.9 cm/360. Scoped sensitivity is 0.9.

His in-game polling rate is 1000 Hz, while the STA-X supports up to 8000 Hz. Windows sensitivity is 6 and Raw Input Buffer is off.

Should you buy stax's mouse?

The STA-X is available: Pulsar released it on 12 June 2026. It has an ambidextrous shape and weighs 60 g. It measures 12.4 cm long, 6.2 cm wide and 6.2 cm high. It suits players who want a very light wireless mouse with a symmetrical shape.

The alternatives trade off weight and height:

• Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 Black: 1 g lighter, the same length, 0.14 cm narrower and 2.24 cm lower. 21 pros use it now, and stax used it right before the STA-X.
• Logitech G Pro X Superlight Black: 2 g heavier, the same length, 0.14 cm narrower and 2.24 cm lower. 14 pros use it now.
• Logitech G Pro Wireless: 21 g heavier, 0.1 cm longer, 0.1 cm wider and 0.1 cm taller. It is the closest of the three to the STA-X's outer dimensions, but it is the heaviest. 4 pros use it now.

Among these models the Superlight 2 Black is the lightest and the STA-X is second. The STA-X is the shortest of the four.
