The Starlight Pro is his longest-used device. The Logitech G Pro X Superlight Magenta is his longest earlier period at 18.3 months (1.5 years), from September 2022 to March 2024.

The history holds two devices and one switch, made in March 2024. He has used the Starlight Pro since then.

Mousepad

He currently uses the Artisan Ninja FX Zero Soft Black, which he has had since March 2024. It is a 3 mm cloth pad with stitched edges and a control-oriented overall glide.

The friction values describe that glide. Static friction is 41.3 and dynamic friction is 2.51, and the glide difference between the X and Y axes is 11.2%.

The Starlight Pro is on sale, so you can buy exactly what he uses. It is a wireless, ambidextrous mouse. It weighs 42 g and measures 12.2 cm long, 6.3 cm wide and 3.7 cm high. It has the Finalsensor and Kailh GM 8.0 switches. The shape is symmetrical, so it does not favour a left or right hand.

The alternatives trade weight, size and polling rate against the original:

• WLMouse BEAST X Black: 2 g lighter and 0.1 cm narrower, with the same length and height. It polls at 4000 Hz and uses optical switches. 2 pros use it now.
• Finalmouse Starlight-12 Hades: 5 g heavier, with the same length, width and height. It has the same Finalsensor, Kailh GM 8.0 switches and 1000 Hz polling. 2 pros use it now.
• Pulsar X2 CrazyLight: 3 g lighter, 0.2 cm shorter and 0.1 cm taller, with the same width. It polls at 8000 Hz, uses the XS-1 sensor and optical switches, and is used by 4 pros now.

The Hades is the closest match in size, with the same dimensions and sensor but a heavier build. The BEAST X and the CrazyLight are lighter and have higher polling rates, but use optical switches instead of Kailh GM 8.0.
