What Mouse Does HisWattson Use?

Mousepad

He plays on the Xraypad Aqua Control II Black, in use since April 2024, according to his own !mousepad chat command. Before it came the X-raypad Aqua Control+ White, which he used for 19.3 months from September 2022.

Both pads are from the same Aqua Control line, so the change is a step within one family. The current pad is cloth with stitched edges and measures 45 x 40 cm at 4 mm thick. Static and dynamic friction are both rated Very Low, so the surface is built for speed, with little resistance at the start of a movement and while gliding.

Mouse settings

His Apex Legends sensitivity works out to 33.7 cm/360 at 800 DPI, with an eDPI of 1232. The mouse polls at 1000 Hz, the highest option the Viper Ultimate offers, and acceleration is off.

Per Optic ADS Sensitivity is switched on, so each scope has its own multiplier. The 1x to 4x optics run between 0.9 and 1.3, rising with magnification. The 6x, 8x and 10x optics all sit at 1.0. His scoped multipliers are therefore not a straight scale across the range.

800 DPI is well inside the sensor's 100-20000 range, which is adjustable in steps of 50.

Should you buy HisWattson's mouse?

The Razer Viper Ultimate is an ambidextrous wireless mouse. It weighs 74 g and measures 12.93 cm long, 5.85 cm wide and 3.75 cm high. Of the mice compared here, it has the lowest height and the greatest length. Only the ZOWIE U2-DW Black is narrower. That makes it a fit for players who want a long, low, symmetrical shape without a cable.

It can be bought, and the alternatives trade off as follows:

• ZOWIE FK1-C: 3 g heavier, the same length, 0.45 cm wider and 0.15 cm taller. It is wired, with a PMW 3360 sensor and a 1000 Hz maximum polling rate.
• Endgame Gear XM1R: 4 g lighter and 0.83 cm shorter, with a PMW 3370 sensor and Kailh GM 8.0 switches. It is wired and polls at up to 1000 Hz.
• ZOWIE U2-DW Black: 14 g lighter, 0.63 cm shorter and 0.05 cm narrower. It is wireless, with a PAW3950 sensor and polling up to 4000 Hz. Six pros currently use it.

Choose the Viper Ultimate if you want wireless at its length and height. Go to the U2-DW for a much lighter wireless mouse, or to the FK1-C or XM1R if a cable is acceptable.
